In the 90's Peter found that 360 Feedback provided development centres with vital work based information; it checked and added to assessors' views. His clients discovered 360 Feedback provided much of the information as a development centre, but at a fraction of the cost. Increasingly, 360 Feedback replaced development centres, and Peter began to research and innovate with 360.
In '99 Peter and Jane were amongst the first to provide online 360 questionnaires and feedback reports. Internet based 360 was much faster and cheaper than paper processes, and much more flexible than intranet systems. Early clients simply wanted cumbersome 360 processes put on the Internet, but things changed.
Organisations realised that their 360 was not working as it should because questionnaires were poor, or their feedback reports were far too complicated, or perhaps even their competencies were unhelpful. Peter and Jane became involved with competency research and questionnaire/report design, and those continue to be a significant part of what they do.
Today, there is growing awareness that 360 Feedback alone achieves little. 360 only makes a difference to people and performance if it's part of a bigger HR process, such as appraisal or a change workshop. And, its here that our coaching and action planning expertise helps individuals and organisations strengthen skills and performance. Many clients' successes have been based on coaching tools and techniques provided by us.

| Peter has degrees in psychology and organisation development, and he has probably researched and written more on 360 Feedback than anyone else in the UK. There's been more than a decade of academic papers, magazine articles, conference appearances… But, Peter’s approach remains eminently practical. His emphasis on simplicity and business results has helped organisations build successes in appraisal, development centres, coaching, and team building. | Peter Goodge![]() |
